Parents can use OEKO-TEX as one product-level check, but it is not a ranking of the healthiest sleep sack. The exact certificate and its scope must match the finished item. An OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 label is a claim about a textile product and the scope recorded by the certifier. It does not guarantee that every item from a brand is certified or that a sleep sack suits every baby.
What the label can tell you
STANDARD 100 uses product classes based on intended use and skin contact. Product Class 1 is the class for babies and children up to 3 years and has the strictest limit values. The class alone does not identify which products, materials, components or production stages are covered.
Check the certificate scope
Find the label, certificate number or QR code associated with the exact product. Use the OEKO-TEX Label Check or the issuer's record to confirm validity. Compare the scope with the item: product category, material composition, processing, prints, finishes and accessories can matter. Keep a fabric or component certificate separate from certification of a finished sleep sack.
What not to infer
A label or a bamboo description does not by itself prove that every product is certified, that a sleep sack is organic, antimicrobial, hypoallergenic or temperature-regulating, or that it is suitable for a particular child. Certification does not replace the manufacturer's care instructions, a fit check or safe-sleep guidance.
